Local Committees 

 

·         Budget & Audit (Annette McMichael) - Audit the books, accounts and financial records of the association as maintained by the Treasurer.  Submit report to the Board of Directors within 30 days of being appointed. The Board of Directors shall develop the annual budget. 

·         Bulletin/Newsletter (Sierra Conn) - Coordinate the development of bulletins and newsletter for the local association.

·         By-Law & Standing Rules (Cheryl Sexton) - Appointed by the President. The Bylaws Committee shall consider all written proposed changes of the national, regional and state bylaws and shall present them to the association with recommendations. It shall also review any local association bylaws changes and submit them for approval.

·         Education (Janice Bish) - Promote NAIW's education programs within the local association and reinforce the importance of education through the identification, development and communication of learning opportunities within NAIW, as well as the insurance and academic community in general. The Education Committee shall recommend and supervise educational programs and courses of study in insurance and related subjects. The Education Committee should promote NAIW programs.  Must file CE Provider Fees with the Insurance Commissioner's office no later than Oct 1.

·         Fundraising (Michael Fulwood) - Helps coordinate ideas for raising funds for association

·         Jewelry/Name Tags (None) - Order any jewelry that is needed during the year as well as name tags of members.  Also, provide name tags at monthly meetings for members and guests who do not have their own name tags.

·         Legislative (Annette McMichael) - Keep the local membership informed of changes in the legislation significant to matters of the insurance industry. The Legislative Committee shall keep the membership advised of local, state and national legislation affecting the insurance industry, and shall promote a legislative program. Coordinate trip to Atlanta for Council Legislative Day.

·         Membership (Roberta Faulk) - Promote membership in the association, to assist in the development of expansion affiliates if a need is expressed for such, and to prepare and maintain a complete directory of the membership.  Plan the membership program. The committee may provide assistance in organizing new associations.  Should try to do a membership drive in July or August, or at the very least sometime during the year.

·         NAIW Week (Shari Morgan) - Develop a program to be presented during NAIW Week-3rd week in May.  This meeting will be in place of our general meeting.  Find a speaker.  The Insurance Women of the Year Award and the Eleanor Wilder awards as well as the corporate sponsor award are presented during this program.

·         Public Relations (None) - The Public Relations Committee shall foster public relations and shall submit news items and photos of association activities to local press and insurance industry media.

·         Recognition/Awards (Marie Gravley) - To coordinate all award forms and provide to members.  To choose the winners of the awards and to order the plaques.  Dates on plaques are the dates that the award was won, which may or may not be the judging period

·         Safety/Sesame Street (Lisa Hendricks) - Promote safety as it relates to insurance risks and the insurance industry.  Plan a program and recognize Fireman of the Year for Macon/Bibb County Fire Department.  (October)

·         Social & Cheer  (Gloria Daniely-Weston) - Develop programs during the year including the December party luncheon.  Send appropriate greeting cards to members as needed.

·         Webmaster (Sierra Conn) - Develop and/or maintain a webpage for our local association.  Keep the website updated with photos and information about our association and functions.

·         Welfare/Civic (Marie Gravley) - Plan community involvement activities for the local association.
